“ 3 friends and I, foreign tourists, got a suggestion from a local guide, took a Grab car to Quan 45 for dinner. It's a large, nice, clean, upscale restaurant about 3 to 4 miles North of Saigon Central. We were greeted in front by the female manager in her long silk dress. About 30 tables were avail on the open air terrace but traffic noise was annoying; we opted for a private air con room. It's a large good, fun restaurant where you can select among over 50 waitresses to sit with you, eat, drink, feed you food and drinks lovingly like an emperor. This is like a classy bia om with good food and good fun with hot girls. Most dishes are spicy snacks to go with beers, like crispy roast pork, roast duck, fried calamari ect, served sizzling hot and actually very delicious, only 50K to 100K ($2-4) per full plate. They also serve standard dinner dishes like hot pot, braised fish ect . I was very impressed with their food and have to commend their chefs for doing a very good job, to me very rare in HCMC nowadays. Beers are cheap, compared to restaurants around Bui Vien, only 25K or $1 for cold Heinekens. Did not have time to check where the beers are brewed, but by taste, pretty sure brewed under license in Saigon. We had 4 girls sitting with us. They pushed beers for the boss and survive mainly on tips, I was told. They were popping beers left and right and pouring, drinking with us while feeding us food, and drinks, themselves drinking a lot but only nibbling on food to keep weight down, all the while talking, flirting. With beers costing only $1, we did not care how many they pop or drink. We drank about 1 case of 24 Heinekens with the girls in about 3 hours. When we were ready to leave, we were presented with an itemized invoice for 1.2M or about $50 for all 4 of us, which is an incredibly good deal for a delish and fun night for 4 guys. My waitress was such good company so I tipped her 200K or $8. She asked for more, I gave her another 200K, total $16. She again asked for more for the bus girls who brought food and ice buckets ect but I declined. I know where it would go. The local guide was screaming I was spoiling the girls as normal tip is like 100-200K. She gave me her tel to hook up outside of her work time so she could show me Saigon. Not sure how much she knows as most girls doing this service work are country girls growing up in the Mekong Delta, not Saigon or any cities. Nevertheless they are nice, clean, lean, pretty, in good shape with clear light skin, good manners, nice, fun, pleasant like most city girls. This place is so much fun with good food, good company, cheap drinks, reasonable prices, very nice to bring your friends for dinner, will have to come back more often. I heard they have branches in dis 5 and 10. Also would like to find more similar places in Saigon. ”
